Says a LOT of people. But they are wrong. There are many apps out there that give you cash or gift cards just by giving them information from your receipts. You only need 5 minutes (at most) to input the info that they need. Here are my favorite apps to use.
This is the absolute simplest one to use and is a great app for beginners. You earn 100 points for every 4 reciepts you take a picture of. Pretty much any reciept is accepted including gas, resturant, and grocery purchases. You can also forward any receipts emails from online purchases. You redeem these points for gift cards to Walmart, Amazon, Starbucks, and more!
In this one, you also earn points for nearly any reciept, but the point system is different. You get more points for higher dollar receipts. There are also extra fun bonuses such as a slots game that you can earn more coins on and sweepstakes that could pay a lot. The rewards are different, too. You only have 2 options for redemtion;
Amazon credit or Paypal cash out.

I probaby earn the most money from this app. You don't just scan your receipt for this one. This is a rebate app. Meaning, it gives you a certain dollar amount when you buy a specific item. For example, you may get $1.00 back for buying Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal + cup, $.50 for any brand of bacon, and $.50 for tomatoes. It changes periodically and some deals come back so you can redeem them over and over. The selection of items are great, it includes a huge variety of stores, and also includes bonuses when you buy a certain amount of items. You have the option to cash out your balance to PayPal, venmo, or giftcards to just about anywhere.

This works exactly like Ibotta except there is less variety. Also, your only choice for a cash out is for them to send you a check in the mail.
Another rebate app like the previous one. It has a limited selection and also pays by check.

The Walmart app isn't just for shopping, you can also scan your Walmart reciepts with thier Savings Catcher feature. If any competitor has what you bought advertised at a lower price, it gives you the difference back as a Walmart gift card.
I use all of these apps and LOVE them. It may not be a lot of money, but it's easy money. And I just can't say no to that ;)
